Here's the thing. I know the struggle is real, and I don't discount that, at all. But, for big professional streamers & youtubers, they don't give a damn if you lurk. As long as you contribute to ad dollars and paid subscriptions, they're good. But, for small streamers and small creators, coming out of lurk-mode to like, comment, subscribe; share and suggest their content to others; that is life's blood. The difference is between being drained lifeless by the void and having the heart to go on.

"But, I’m just done. I can’t even. My very first stream was way back in Sept 2014. I just can’t end up having been doing this shit for 10 years, admittedly off and on, and nothing to show for it. And that’s what it will be if I keep trying with it until 2024, just around the corner."

I guess the only real question is: will I miraculously reach 666 subscribers before or after my 10th year on YT?

Haha, even when I was actively streaming and posting videos, it was much the same as never existing then too!

Really, as if my option mattered more than jack and shirt. I'm a tiny wannabe creator on hiatus. It's like I never even existed.

Browsing tags on mastodon.social for federated posts and then seeing if there's anyone I recognize, and if I find anyone checking who they follow … it's the new inspecting the source to see how the page is coded, from back in the 90s.

Participating in this remote swag bag, as someone who will likely never ever be at another con in person, for reasons, I found myself really wishing that everyone did this. I'd love to get swag bags of fun stuff from all the things I'll never get to go to like how this one was.

I keep thinking that even though I've given up on streaming, and since a few new people keep sporadically following my channel on YT, that if, in my lifetime, I get to 666 followers (not that far to go, tbh) I'll come back and post at least 1 new video to celebrate.

Though, tbh, I've pretty much given up on everything else related to this persona.
